Our Christmas Party is always a wonderful event. Great food, fellowship, and fun.

This year we will also offer FREE child-sitting from 1 PM til 4 PM to those who RSVP.

This is an amazing event to showcase Owensboro’s talent. There will be a lot of groups performing, but make sure you come and see GRADSA’s StarSquad Dance Team dance at Cannon Hall at the RiverPark. This performance also marks the anniversary of their very first performance at this same event last year. Come and join the FUN and show your support of GRADSA’s StarSquad Dance Team and creative talent in Owensboro!

March 21, 2017 marks World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). This day is dedicated to advocating for the rights, inclusion, and well being of people with Down Syndrome. Come join us Sunday, March 19th for a Tailgate Party at the Owensboro Sports Center starting at 2pm in the Mavericks’ Hospitality Room, then enjoy the Mavericks game at 4pm. Come watch the GRADSA StarSquad Dance Team perform with the Lady Mavs at halftime!

IMPORTANT DETAILS

1. FREE TICKETS FOR THE FIRST 50!

GRADSA will pay for the tickets to the Mav’s game for the first 50 families who RSVP by Friday, March 17th and follow these instructions:

+Tickets will be limited to up to 3 per family—participant and two caregivers

+RSVP must give the names of the up to 3 people who will receive the tickets

+There are 2 ways to RSVP:

1. Email info@gradsa.org with the Subject line “TICKETS” and the up to 3 names in the body of the email
2. Confirm you’re going on the WDSD Facebook Event, and you must also send a Message to GRADSA (via the Message button on our page) with the up to 3 names

We will announce on the GRADSA Facebook page when and if the limit is reaching before March 17th

2. Buy 1 Ticket Get 1 Free coupons will be available during tailgating for all other attendees – General Admission is regularly $11

3. Tailgating will begin at 2pm in the Hospitality Room and parking lot (weather permitting) at the Owensboro SportsCenter

4. Bring a tailgating snack or dessert to share. Pizza and drinks will be provided

5. Wear a GRADSA or Buddy Walk shirt (and crazy socks) to show your support on WDSD! Learn more about getting your own WDSD socks here:

6. We will also be passing out Buddy Walk t-shirts and some of these t-shirts will be thrown into the crowd at the game

7. Tokens will also be passed out at the tailgating party prior to the game for free concessions

The Color Blast 5k is a run/walk color celebration to recognize the positive impact individuals with special needs have on our lives, to acknowledge their abilities, and help spread awareness!

The Color Blast 5k is brought to you by 5 Owensboro non-profits: Puzzle Pieces, GRADSA, Dream Riders of KY, Team Karlie, and Wendell Foster’s Campus, whose common mission is to support and enhance the quality of life of those with disabilities. Your participation in this event will 100% directly benefit theses host organizations.

The objective of the 5K event: participants wear white (don’t forget to have fun with it using headbands, tall socks, tutus, anything white) and along the run/walk route participants will be showered with a safe and non-toxic COLORED POWDER at each mile marker. The color fun continues to the After Party involving a color shower as a group. We encourage families, schools, church groups, and friends to get involved in this non-competitive 5K event to have fun and support a great cause!

This year our Family Fall Fun Night will be at Reid’s Orchard. Don’t miss all the fun games, hay ride, smores and wienie roast!

Don’t miss our Annual Back to School Pool Party at Cravens Pool.  Lots of families and fun plus grilled burgers and hot dogs.

GRADSA will pay for the individual with Down syndrome and 2 family members.

All other immediate family members will be $23.  Extended family members and friends will be $33 and this includes lunch.

We will have a buffet lunch in the picnic grove.

All extra tickets must be paid before the event on May 21st.
